Buhari & what he will do for Nigeria if he's voted on February 14

The Presidential Campaign train of the All Progressive’s Congress (APC) moved to Imo state on January 12, 2015. The campaign which has seen APC Presidential Candidate Muhammadu Buhari, along with other members of the party, visit states in Southern Nigeria - Port-Harcourt, Cross River, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, have also visited the South-Eatern states of Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu states respectively, continued on Monday with a rally in Owerri, the commercial city in Imo State.

The day however began in Abuja with an Inauguration Ceremony for the Campaign Council, during which Muhammadu Buhari requested that the crowd join him in observing a one-minute silence for victims of the recent attacks in Baga. He also enjoined his supporters to desist from any form of violence.

Buhari, along with his running mate Professor Yemi Osinbajo, then moved to Imo State, where he was warmly received by top APC dignitaries.

Buhari took the stage, speaking directly on issues facing the nation. “It is clear to see that security is of paramount importance to our economy,” he said. “We have laid clear plans to solve our security issue.”
He rounded off by encouraging Nigerians to pick up their Permanent Voters Cards and ensure they vote.

The ceremony which was hosted by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a member of the APC national campaign council, had the party’s dignitaries give comments on the presidential candidacy of the APC, and made the case for APC aspirants running for office this year.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, after an opening prayer led by the Anglican Bishop. “We have an honest man as president,” Amaechi said. “Whatever he says, he will surely deliver. He is a man of integrity and a zero tolerance to corruption.”

APC National Leader John Oyegun also took to the stage. “For 16 years we have been going from bad to worse,” he said. “The trouble with Nigeria is leadership, and Igbos must embrace the moving train of change.”

Governor Rochas Okorocha then took the stage, and, spoke on the essence of voting for a government focused on the issues that matter. “Our economy is a paper quoted one,” he said, while the excited audience screamed and approved. “
The best way to judge the economy of a nation is to see the stomach of the ordinary man.”

He went on to extol the virtues of Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as “a man of character, discipline and strength”. He also dismissed suggestions of plans by Muhammadu Buhari to “Islamise” Nigeria. “His cook for over 25 years has been a Christian,” he said. “The driver he has had for over 30 years is a Christian. His last daughter is married to a Christian.”

Also present at the event were Governor Rotimi Amaechi, APC National Organizing Secretary, Osita Izunazo, first Governor of Abia State, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, and former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Yahoo Lists Omotola As One Of The Actors The World Is Yet To Know

Yahoo Lists Omotola As One Of The Actors The World Is Yet To Know

Yahoo Lists Omotola As One Of The Actors The World Is Yet To Know
Yahoo has made a list of 10 highest grossing movie stars they say the world has never heard off, and Omotola Ekeinde was listed among the 10 stars. Yahoo described them as actors who have achieved great success in their chosen fields but have received no recognition for their work. Below is how they described our very own Omotola.

We’ll wager not only have you not heard of Omotola Jalade Ekeinde – or ‘Omosexy’ as her fans call her – but we reckon you probably haven’t even heard of the industry she spearheads: Nollywood.
Yes, that’s Nigeria’s version Hollywood, in which Omosexy dominates – she has over 300 film credits to her name (although most go straight to video). In her homeland she’s like a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, with her own reality TV series following her and her family.

Though it’s nigh on impossible to determine what her box-office total is, given that the Nigerian film industry is mostly one that distributes through market stalls and street corners, it is estimated to be worth upwards of £320 million a year – and Omosexy is a Nollywood cornerstone.

Son Tae-yeong has baby girl

It's a baby girl for actor kwon Sang-woo and actress Son Tae-yeong, who gave birth on Saturday.

Kwon, who stars in both films and dramas, uploaded a message onto his fan community the day his daughter was born.

"I came here to meet Luk-hee's sister earlier than scheduled. Thank you for everything", he wrote.

Kwon and Son married in 2008.

The masculine actor's career has strengthened since he got married. He recently starred in the drama series "Temptation" (2014) and appeared in "CZ12" - also known as "Chinese Zodiac" - in 2012, a film directed by Jackie Chan.

Son posed for a photo shoot in the Korean version of Elle magazine last month before her due date and said she has been sticking to a diet and a workout plan during her pregnancy, which has helped her stay in shape.

The celebrity couple now have two children. Their son was born in 2009 several months after their marriage.

Shocking: Man gives out 13-year-old daughter in marriage to man who raped her

A Kano based mechanic gave out his daughter for marriage to a rapist who gang raped her alongside his friends. A date has been fixed for the wedding.

A father in Tudun Rubudi of Ungogo local government, Kano State has given his 13-year-old daughter to one of the four men who allegedly gang-raped her.

Usaini Ja’afar alongside Sani Isa,  Jamilu Sani and Isa Musa were all arrested in December 2014  by Kano State Hisbah Board’s Dala Command after they were all found naked at an uncompleted building shortly after they had raped the 13-year-old girl.
According to Hisbah officials, three of the suspects confessed that they had raped the girl who was lured to the uncompleted building. During interrogations, one of the rapists, Usiani Ja’afar pleaded to marry the girl, begging her father to give his blessings.

The father, Malam Ya’u, a mechanic, spoke to Weekly Trust and revealed that he was at his garage working when Hisbah officials came with the news that his daughter had been raped.
Malam Ya’u said he wanted all of them to be tried and sent to jail for their crimes but had to change his stance after all of them showed remorse for the crime and one even pleading to marry the 13-year-old girl. “When all of them showed remorse, especially the one pleading to marry her, Ja’afar, I decided to temper justice with mercy,” the rape victim’s father told Weekly Trust.

According to Malam Yau, Usaini indicated his seriousness of marrying his daughter by carrying out the customary tradition of coming with his family to formally ask the hand of the girl in marriage. “He came with his uncle, who it turned out I already knew and had a cordial relationship with. So I accepted the request and will marry her off to him. In fact, the date for the wedding has been fixed since. I decided to allow him marry the girl because our consultations with our Malams (Islamic clerics) showed that there is nothing wrong about that,” Malam Ya’u said.

The forgiving father said he considered Ja’afar appeal because of the numerous plea he got from Usiani and his uncles. He also revealed that his daughter had undergone medical tests and result showed that she is okay.

According to Weekly Trust, a Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Fadlu Dan Almajiri Fagge, said that the Islam religion allows for a rape victim to marry the man who raped her provided certain conditions are met. “First, the girl has to observe Istibira’i, a month period to ensure absence of pregnancy. The girl should not also be among those prohibited for the rapist. Provided those conditions are met, marriage can take place with the consent of the girl and her parents,” Shiekh Fadlu Dan Almajiri Fagge said.

PDP Chieftain Reveals Why Jonathan Will Lose Election

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hassan Jalo, on Sunday expressed fears that President Goodluck Jonathan cannot win February presidential election.

thugs-embarrass-jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan
Jalo, who spoke in a chat with the Nation reporters in Kaduna, said Jonathan may lose the election if he relies on the promises of Abuja-based politicians.

He said the ruling party will be digging its own grave by underrating the strength and the challenge of the country’s main opposition party the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the ruling party can only emerge victorious by returning to the drawing board as well as return to the grassroots to mobilise for supports.

“PDP will fail if it relies on Abuja politicians because they cannot decide who wins the presidential elections. The party must go back to the drawing board and grassroots for it to come out victorious in the 2015 elections. People are defecting in mass from PDP at the grassroots. APC is a big threat to PDP because it is a formidable opposition.  People close to Jonathan don’t tell him the truth. The PDP is in a serious problem – if it does not go back to the drawing board and it keeps relying on the Abuja politicians. If the PDP does not do that I’m afraid anything can happen in the 2015 general elections. PDP is in danger. You see the plain truth is PDP should not take APC lightly,” he said.

Jalo, who acknowledged that the APC is a very strong and formidable opposition party, said the party is a threat to PDP. He said 2015 election will not be like any other elections, because PDP has lost five formidable state governors.

“For PDP to lose Kano and Lagos, which are highly populated area, forget it. Kano and Lagos brings the highest votes in Nigeria. Any political party that can win the Northwest and Southwest and get additional votes from Northeast, Northcentral, Southeast and Southsouth will win the Presidency. Majority of the votes comes from the Northwest and Southwest. And look at it that the PDP has lost Kano, Northwest and Lagos, Southwest. PDP has messed up by losing Kwara, Adamawa and Sokoto.  When you take the Sokoto Caliphate, which comprises of Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi, they vote in mass.

And even in this 2015 election, they will vote in one direction from the way I’m looking at things. And all this forms part of the Northwest. In Nigerian politics, ones you win in the Southwest and Northwest, you have won the presidency because that is where the bulk of the votes come from,” he said.

Why I Am Supporting President Jonathan 2015

By Ohimai Amaize
There is so much to write about why I am supporting President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. It is said that the only thing permanent about life is its sheer impermanence. Given the foregoing, change is thus a constant of human existence. Nonetheless, I am not one of those who would treat the concept of change as a mere abstraction or a garb of convenience tailored, adorned and dumped at the slightest whim of the adorner. Far from it!

Rewind back to the pre-2011 Presidential Campaign era. I served in the Presidential Campaign of Chief Dele Momodu as his Presidential Campaign Manager. I was selected at the tender age of 26 for this assignment in 2010, making me the world’s youngest Presidential Campaign Manager in modern democratic history. I was not a card-carrying member of Chief Momodu’s National Conscience Party (NCP). I carried out my assignment professionally as a young technocrat. I did my job with passion and conviction.
Faced with the facts in 2011,
my assignment on the campaign trail required constantly campaigning for my candidate, amplifying his strengths and drawing attention to the weaknesses of the other candidates in the race. There is nothing new about this under sun. This is the standard practice in political campaigns globally.

The campaigns came to a close in April 2011 and in August 2011, I was invited by the then Minister of Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi to support his work at the Youth Development Ministry as his Special Assistant on Advocacy. In his words when he called me on the phone: “I have been told that if I will succeed in the Youth Ministry, I need young people like you around me.” I got on his team on the pure recognition of my competence as a young professional. I consulted and received the blessings of my former principal, Chief Dele Momodu before I proceeded on the assignment with Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi. Our one-year stint at the Youth Ministry goes into the history books as one of the most remarkable in the history of Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth Development. It was while we were at the Youth Development Ministry that the YouWIN initiative was midwifed under a Youth Development, Communications Technology and Finance Ministry collaboration with support from the World Bank.

Follow peace with all men despite provocation ''Jonathan tells suporters

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday urged his supporters across the country to continue to pursue peace regardless of undue provocation that may come their way during electioneering for the next month’s general elections.
The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, made Jonathan’s position known on his Twitter handle.
He said the President who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 14 election made the call just as some youths set his campaign bus ablaze in Jos.
Abati further quoted Jonathan as advising all politicians to conduct their campaigns with decorum and civility.
“Let us conduct our electoral campaigns with highest possible decorum and civility towards political opponents,” Abati quoted Jonathan as saying.
He further called on all Nigerians to say no to violence.
“On violent destruction of supporters’ assets, President Jonathan calls on his supporters to pursue peace in the face of undue provocation,” he added.

A Voter Guide for The Body of ..............(Christ)

We’re less than 31 day  from the presidential Election, and I’m very excited about watching the results unfold. I already had plans to get a new television, but made sure it arrived in time to have big-screen viewing on election evening – for me, this quadrennial occurrence is as much spectator sport as any major, world-class championship game. But with all of the excitement, I can’t help but feel a deep burden for seeing Christians do a much better job proclaiming something that matters far more than whether a preferred candidate reaches 270 electoral votes: The Gospel.

It’s tended to get buried because of politics, especially in our current polarized political climate. Republican Christians pit themselves on one side; Democrat Christians, on the other (not to mention other offshoots of these parties that I will refrain from naming to avoid potentially misclassifying them). Then there are so-called Independents, who still tend to lean one way or the other. Christians on both – or all – sides often marvel how the other side could possibly profess Christ yet support “x” policy or have “y” view (although I think it’s fair to say that, at least on some level, these claims are made to varying degrees depending on political position).

I have spent significant time in Christian circles that are either overwhelmingly Republican or predominantly Democrat, and have been an outsider in both. That’s not to say that I don’t lean a certain way (I do) – or that I haven’t at times vocalized my political opinions – but, growing up as a first-generation American, with parents who grew up in another country, my family did not have a tradition of belonging to a particular party as many Americans do. On some level, my sensitivity to the tendency for Christians to become overly partisan at the expense of The Gospel is a result of my own experiences interacting with politics and faith.

I became most disturbed by the often vitriolic comments that came out of professing Christians’ mouths vilifying “the other side” (whichever that is) during the 2008 presidential election campaign cycle. For example, I remember Facebook becoming a breeding ground for public, incendiary exchanges between many of my Christian-school classmates who had known each other since elementary school, but were now on opposite sides of the political spectrum. I even found myself posting a couple comments about the party of a candidate whom I was not supporting that drew fire and, in retrospect, I would not have made.

But, on a positive note, that election I remember one Christian settling a difference of political opinion with another Christian on Facebook by noting that Christians of varying political positions are connected by the fact that our true citizenship actually is not in this world, but in heaven. That’s the beginning of where I want to land: encouraging fellow believers not only to remember during election season that our citizenship is in heaven, but also that it’s our job to take as many people with us.

Message Mix-Up

Often, we don’t realize how our partisanship can affect our witness and responsibility as Christians to share the good news. The Gospel is defined as Jesus dying and rising again on the third day - providing eternal life to all who believe - according to the scriptures. Our good works are a way for us to live out God’s purpose for our lives and show the fruit of the Holy Spirit in us. But, as noted in 2 Corinthians 5, sharing The Gospel is the job – or the “ministry of reconciliation” that all Christians are given on this earth. That’s above everything else we do – our occupation, hobbies, and yes – our political parties or positions. Second Corinthians 5: 20 says this about our God-given ministry  of reconciliation: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (ESV). That’s the message to which we’re supposed to be dedicated at all times.

How I killed my lady friend — 41-year-old spare parts dealer

Image result for picture of festus aimufua- suspect

In Sunday Vanguard of last week, we reported the case of 41-year-old Festus Aimufua who allegedly murdered his lady friend, Ms Rose Aifuwa, on Christmas Day. Aifuwa, a mother of four, was based in Austria but returned to Nigeria with her Austrian passport last December to celebrate the Yuletide with her family. According to the deceased family, Festus allegedly killed their daughter because the deceased was requesting for the money allegedly owed her by the suspect.

Ever since the incident, the police in Edo State has been conducting their investigation and the suspect confessed to have committed the murder, though unknowingly. Sunday Vanguard spoke to the suspect on Friday and he expressed regret for killing a woman who, according to him, he loved.

He, however, denied owing the deceased, asserting that the only business he had with her was in February last year and he paid for the goods.

They alleged that on that Christmas Day, their daughter insisted that Festus should pay the money but the suspect ran away from the deceased residence, hitting her with his car. It was said that the suspect dragged the deceased under the car till he got to Upper Mission Extension junction where he dumped the mangled body. After the incident, the Austrian government contacted the Nigeria Police and demanded that the matter be properly investigated since the deceased was an Austrian citizen.

He narrated: “ I am 41 years old and a motor spare parts dealer. I did not kill her. It happened on the 25th of December very early in the morning. There is one boy that help me to pack my goods, the boy was with me. After I dropped my family, I now decided to go and drop the boy. On getting to Upper Mission junction, she called me and asked if I didn’t know that, that day was watch night, and that if I would come to see her. I said I was coming. Immediately I turned my car and drove down to her shop, she had a bar.

“However, the soldiers and local hunters engaged them in a gun duel. But the soldiers later succeeded in repelling the attack.”

“But the security forces were able to repel the insurgents and as I am speaking to you, normalcy has started returning to Mubi following assurances by security personnel that they are on top of the situation,” Mr. Musa said.

+18: Sexual Seduction: Does the 'size' of your man matter?

Image result for love pictures

This is a sexual question.. I don't know if you will think its an odd question coming for a girl but... does size matter to a guy??

Yes, it definitely does. For several reasons. One reason is that men are very competitive and like to be better than other men. Another reason is magazines, you know magazines put pressure on women to be thin and attractive. Well the magazines put pressure on men to have six packs, muscular bodies and big body parts. Then of course there are women who also put pressure on a guy to go to the gym, have a six pack and muscular body and that big body part that you talk about.

For example: my first boyfriend was quite well-endowed, we were together for ages and i was used to his size, the sex was great. Now we've broke up and i recently started a sexual relationship with a guy who is a lot less well-endowed. well it has made a difference for me.. i don't really feel him inside me the way i did with my previous boyfriend. But i can live with it..

Yes, the thing is it's very rare that you would find a bloke that's absolutely perfect, that you can tick all the boxes. One bloke you might have immense fun with and your personalities really do match, but he has a small one. Another bloke may have a big one, provide you with brilliant sex but you can't tolerate his personality and he bores you to death. The truth is you need to stick with a guy that you are comfortable living with, the best option you can find, no guy is really going to be perfect in all categories.

Rather curiously my last girlfriend said that her ex had a big one and she didn't enjoy sex with him because it was painful, then she followed up with you are quite big as well (what she meant by that, I don't know). So I think maybe some women do not like big guys.

what worries me more is that maybe HE doesn't feel much when he's inside me.
The truth is that when guys have sex with a woman in this way, they usually only get one orgasm and that's when they come. It can be good sometimes but really this is the same old sex that guys have all the time, so it can become boring.

former President Olusegun Obasanjo will work with for the victory of the party in 2015 elections.

The National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu has said
According to Mu’azu, inspite of Obasanjo’s attack on President Goodluck Jonathan, he will work diligently for the party to win.
This was disclosed in statement yesterday by his Press Secretaty, Chief Tony Amadi, Vanguard reports.
Obasanjo has on several occasions criticised Jonathan’s administration. He recently accused President Jonathan of squandering $25billion crude oil savings his administration left behind.
Mu’azu said the PDP will surprise the All Progressives Congress, APC by winning the elections in the South West in the elections which is scheduled for February.
He added that they will not only defeat the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, but also all the APC Governorship candidates in Oyo, Ogun, Kwara and  Lagos States.

Jonathan mocks Buhari: He can’t remember his phone number

I just hope President Goodluck Jonathan is not exposing himself as being afraid of Muhammadu Buhari, and as such will say anything just to rubbish him? Let's focus on the issues and not name calling!

The President on Friday during a rally in Enugu said Buhari cannot remember his own mobile phone number. Jonathan, whose unscripted address was mostly a response to previous statements made by Buhari, accused the APC presidential candidate of deceiving Nigerians by promising to revive the economy without explaining how he would achieve the feat.

The President wondered how Buhari would develop the country’s economy, a feat he could not achieve while he was in office as head of state between 1983 and 1985.
Jonathan asked: “Is it now that Buhari cannot even remember his own phone number that he can change the economy of the country”?

The PDP presidential candidate said that although he did not like to “go personal during campaigns,” but that “sometimes circumstances demand that certain things must be said.”

Jonathan said that Buhari belonged to the medieval age, adding that he (the APC candidate) intended to run the Federal Government as a medieval king.

He said, “We cannot run the government as if we are in the medieval age; we cannot run a government where somebody said he would throw people into jail.

“You are not a medieval king – a medieval king can throw you into jail but we have to follow the rule of law because we cannot go back to the old days.”

Jonathan, however, read the speech made by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd.) after overthrowing Buhari’s regime through a military coup on August 27, 1985 to justify his claim that the APC candidate does not keep his promises.

2014 African Footballer of the year: I’m not bitter over losing, says Enyeama

Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama on Thursday night, demonstrated the spirit of sportsmanship, when he showed no bitter feeling over his inability to win the 2014 African Footballer of the year, which Cote d’Ivoire’s  midfielder Yaya Toure won for a record fourth time.
Speaking after the elaborate and colourful awards ceremony held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos , Enyeama said CAF was right in their decision to honour the Ivorian once again.
“ I want to say a big thank you for everything, a big thank you for all who nominated and voted for me, to CAF, to Globacom Communications limited and to members of the press.  Iwant to say that I am not a bitter loser; I don’t feel bad losing to Toure. Big congratulations to Toure. I  respect you.’’
On our qualification or not, it doesn’t count. It pains me that Nigeria is not gonna be there. I thank CAF for the award, I support the decision of this night, big congratulations again and I thank God for him”.
He however dismissed any notion that Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the forthcoming AFCON in Equatorial Guinea made him to lose the award.
“Our qualification did not count here. It pains me that Nigeria won’t be there’’

Fashola Criticizes Jonathan Over Lagos Speech

Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, criticized President Goodluck Jonathan’s yesterday’s speech delivered in Lagos during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally.
Babatunde Fashola
Babatunde Fashola
It would be recalled that GEJ’s speech caused controversial reactions. Some called it truly passionate and persuasive, while the others tagged it as “full of mediocrity”.
In particular, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lambasted the President alleging he was only shedding crocodile tears.
Fashola, APC card holder, was among those dissatisfied with Jonathan’s performance saying it was obvious that he could no longer rule Nigeria, Premium Times reports.
Speaking 8 January, Thursday, in Edo State capital, Benin, governor Fashola said that throughout his long speech Jonathan failed to explain what he had actually done for the country and what he would do if re-elected in February.
See Fashola’s opinion below:
“Today, you have listened to a vice presidential candidate telling you in 29 minutes many things you will never hear at a rally because the time for such discussions doesn’t exist for many Nigerian want to interrogate people making empty promises.
“But we chose to be different because we are bustling with ideas. We know ideas can change things. He (Osinbajo) has spoken to you for 29 minutes.
